Fantasy Football 2013: Wide Receiver Rankings NFL training camps open up this week, meaning we are that much closer to the start of the regular season and fantasy football. While kickoff may still be nearly a month away, it s never too early to start preparing for your draft.
At wide receiver where else can you start than Calvin Johnson? Not only did he break Jerry Rice s single-season record for receiving yards with 1,964, he was the leading fantasy scorer among wide receivers despite scoring just five touchdowns.
After Johnson there are plenty of other No. 1 wideouts to choose from, depending on your preference. Dez Bryant came on strong late last season when he caught 50 passes for 879 yards and 10 touchdowns over his final eight games. If he could sustain that type of production over a full season, watch out.
A.J. Green caught a TD pass in nine straight games last season, while Brandon Marshall clearly enjoyed his reunion with Jay Cutler in Chicago. Others who will be wearing different uniforms in 2013 include Wes Welker (Denver), Mike Wallace (Miami), Danny Amendola (New England), Greg Jennings (Green Bay) and Anquan Boldin (San Francisco).
Welker s change of address in particular is intriguing because he not only joins a receiving corps in Denver that also includes Demaryius Thomas and Eric Decker, but the fact that this means he won t be Tom Brady s main target in New England any more. Can Amendola will Welker s role or will one of the other new Patriot receivers emerge in 2013?
